I’M IN! We’re ALL IN for our kids!
Welcome back! We hope that you had a great summer and are ready for your kids to return to the classrooms. Whether you’re a new, or returning family, we’re so happy that you’re part of the FPE community. Our school remains one of the highest ranking elementary schools in the Portland Public School district and we’re always looking for ways to make things even better for our kids. We pride ourselves on being diverse and inclusive and welcome your feedback.
Friends of Forest Park Elementary is your parent leadership team which manages fundraising and social activities for the school. Some of our community building events include Harvest Festival, Spring Carnival, International Festival and Family Dine Out Nights. Money raised is used for classroom supplies, art projects, guest speakers & performers, teacher appreciation, book fair, science fair and more. But most importantly, the majority of money raised is used to support staff positions at our school when public funding falls short of Principal Newyln’s staffing plan. In the past, the majority of fundraising dollars have helped pay for teachers and educational assistants.
This year, our goal is to raise $300,000, which is $700 per student. Your first opportunity to donate will be during the upcoming Fall Drive. This is the easiest way to make your donation – donate online or write a check to drop off at the school. Throughout the year, there will be many other ways to donate, but the biggest opportunity to donate again will be at the Spring Gala on April 4, 2020.
If you have a product or service that would be beneficial to the school, or if you’d like to be a regular volunteer, please reach out to one of our Board members. We’d love to find a way to get you involved whether you have time or money to give. Thank you for supporting Forest Park Elementary!
